These are the other "goldens" that Murph's loving heart brought into our lives.....

"Jack"

Baby "Jack" - looks innocent???
Looks can be deceiving!

Jack is the "leader of the pack".  Or at least Murphy used to let him think he was.  We got Jack 4 years ago from SPCA when he was 12 weeks old and had been left on the streets.  He looked just like a baby Murph.  He definitely did not end up with Murph's gentle, submissive nature!!  100% rowdy boy!!  He would tease Murph constantly and Murph would let him get away with it......

"Sophie"

Murph also led us to Sophie, our only girl, 2 years ago.  She was 3 when we also adopted her through golden retriever rescue.  Sophie had had a horrible life.  She had been beaten terribly leaving her with broken ribs, broken jaw, and severe head injuries.  For the first months after she was rescued she was so afraid of people that she would not stand or walk; she "belly" crawled.  Over time she grew to trust and love us and has become a happy, smiling (with her beautiful crooked teeth) girl who is pampered by her brothers.....

"Maxx"

Big, sweet Maxx...
Love me lots, and then love me some more!

Maxx has been with us for almost 3 years.  We adopted him through golden retriever rescue when he was 3 1/2.  We were the third family that he had lived with.  He had been returned to rescue by previous owners because of his size (a large, but lean 85 lbs.), need for human companionship, and his inability to get along with smaller animals.....so we were the perfect family for him, no small animals, and a mom home all day for him.  Maxx is definitely our "clown" and certainly not our most intelligent dog.  He is a human love sponge....

"Phoenix"

Phoenix (the fox) was the last golden (mix) that Murph talked me into adopting.  He is a little over 2 now and has been with us since May 2001.  He is now our rowdy todddler who loves nothing more than to torment and play with Jack constantly.  He looks sort of like a fox or "Wylie Coyote" - we aren't sure what he's a mix of - but a sweetheart of a guy.......he has become quite a "daddy's" boy - not sure how because at first his "dad" said absolutely no more dogs!  Phoenix figured out how to win his heart over!
